Acu-Rite Displays

NOTES: These are descriptions of Acu-Rite Display receiver units. A Receiver unit requires a sensor unit in order to be useful. The current models of Acu-Rite receiver units may be purchased separately on their website. Different types of receiver units are usually included when you purchase a bundle deal. If you purchase a sensor unit that includes a display/receiver, make sure it is the display/receiver you WANT! A bundle with a display you don't want is not a good deal. Any of the Acu-Rite sensor units may be setup with multiple receivers. IE: You could purchase this receiver unit and add it to a sensor unit for which you already have a receiver unit. Even though you are not limited to the number of receivers you can have, Acu-Rite does have a limit on the number of sensor units. There can be no more than 3 Acu-Rite sensor units within 200 feet of your receivers.

I only use these units. I supply this information for your consideration if you purchase something from someone other than me. I DO NOT SELL ANYTHING.

This is an Acu-Rite PC-Connect Display and Receiver.

If you think you will never create a website for your sensor(s) and you have no interest in ever sharing your sensor(s) data with Weather Underground, WeatherBug, etc, then you should pick a less expensive Acu-Rite display. If you change your mind later, you can always ADD this display/receiver in the future.

If you plan on doing ANY of the things I mentioned above, make sure the Acu-Rite display or bundle you purchase says "PC-Connect".

Using this display, my 5-in-1 sensor unit described above and the Weather Display software described in the PWS Software section of this site, I am able to Rapidfire my sensor's results to Weather Underground and WeatherBug every 3 seconds.

This is one of many products Acu-Rite sells that allow you to receive data from Acu-Rite sensors. It has a built in Barometer, and thus gives you a 6th sensor for your 5-in-1 sensor unit. It will probably work with just about any Acu-Rite sensor unit; however to me it seems it is really a waste of money for anything other than the 5-in-1. It is a very nice, at a glance display that shows all the 5-in-1 sensor data on one screen. I LIKE this display!

This receiver works with one and ONLY one sensor unit. If you have multiple sensor units (3 max) you must have another one of these for each sensor unit. You can of course use a different receiver model for the other sensor unit(s). IE: This display shows me all 5 of the sensors in my 5-in-1 sensor unit; but I have a different display model to display the 3 sensors in my 3-in-1 sensor unit.

Acu-Rite 3-in-1 Display

The display unit
that shows me my
3-in-1 Sensors

This is an Acu-Rite Display and Receiver. I got this display unit in a bundle with my original 3-in-1 weather station. It has run for years without a single problem.

This is one of many products Acu-Rite sells that allow you to receive data from Acu-Rite sensors. It has a built in Barometer, and thus gives you a 4th sensor for your 3-in-1 sensor unit. It will probably work with just about any Acu-Rite sensor unit; however to me it is probably only good for the 3-in-1 or tower sensor as it does not display wind direction or rain information.

This receiver does not have any online capabilities. You can't connect this to a PC or a LAN. It is a receiver that displays a sensor unit's data and adds a Barometer only. It is a nice, at a glance display that shows all sensor data on one screen.

IE: This display shows me all 3 of the sensors in my 3-in-1 sensor unit; but I have a different display model to display the 5 sensors in my 5-in-1 sensor unit.

This is an Acu-Rite Display and Receiver. I got this display unit in a bundle with my Bridge and 5-in-1 weather station. It has run for years without a single problem.

It will probably work with just about any Acu-Rite sensor unit. Personally, I do not like this display unit. It displays one sensor at a time. IE: You can see the wind speed on the display pictured, but not the temperature, humidity, etc. You can set it to rotate through all the sensor data. But to me, this display SUCKS. Don't get me wrong, it is built well, has a really nice stand, and I have had no problems with it, I just like a display that I can see everything at a glance.
