If you want to see your Acu-Rite sensors online, you currently have two choices from Acu-Rite. You can use an Acu-Rite Bridge, or you can get one of the Acu-Rite PC-Connect display units. Both work very well and each choice has advantages. Either choice will allow you to hook your sensors up to Acu-Link and which one to buy is going to depend on what you want.
Acu-Link is a FREE service Acu-Rite provides where you can view your sensors from anywhere you can get Internet access. It is very easy to get your sensors hooked up to Acu-Link. Simply follow the instructions that come with your Bridge or PC-Connect monitor. If something does not work, Acu-Rite has great technical support.
This is an Acu-Rite Bridge Receiver. I got this in a bundle with a display/receiver and 5-in-1 weather sensor unit. It has run for years without a single problem.
This is one of many products Acu-Rite sells that allow you to receive data from Acu-Rite sensors. It has a built in Barometer, and thus gives you a 6th sensor for your 5-in-1 sensor unit. It will probably work with just about any Acu-Rite sensor unit. It handles up to 3 sensor units at the same time. It needs to be hooked directly into your web connected router via a CAT5 cable. Its only function is to transmit your sensors data to Acu-Rites online service called Acu-Link. With Acu-Link, you can view your sensors by going to the Acu-Link website and logging in. Acu-Link also has an APP for both Android and Apple. With one of these APPs you can view your data on the go.
Using this bridge, the 3-in-1 sensor described above and the Kevin Key's Acu-Rite Bridge Reader software described in the PWS Software section of this site, I am able to Rapidfire my sensor's results to Weather Underground and WeatherBug every 3 seconds.
This is an Acu-Rite PC-Connect Display and Receiver.
If you think you will never create a website for your sensor(s) and you have no interest in ever sharing your sensor(s) data with Weather Underground, WeatherBug, etc, then you should pick a less expensive Acu-Rite display. If you change your mind later, you can always ADD this display/receiver in the future.
If you plan on doing ANY of the things I mentioned above, make sure the Acu-Rite display or bundle you purchase says "PC-Connect".
Using this display, my 5-in-1 sensor unit described above and the Weather Display software described in the PWS Software section of this site, I am able to Rapidfire my sensor's results to Weather Underground and WeatherBug every 3 seconds.
This is one of many products Acu-Rite sells that allow you to receive data from Acu-Rite sensors. It has a built in Barometer, and thus gives you a 6th sensor for your 5-in-1 sensor unit. It will probably work with just about any Acu-Rite sensor unit; however to me it seems it is really a waste of money for anything other than the 5-in-1. It is a very nice, at a glance display that shows all the 5-in-1 sensor data on one screen. I LIKE this display!
This receiver works with one and ONLY one sensor unit. If you have multiple sensor units (3 max) you must have another one of these for each sensor unit. You can of course use a different receiver model for the other sensor unit(s). IE: This display shows me all 5 of the sensors in my 5-in-1 sensor unit; but I have a different display model to display the 3 sensors in my 3-in-1 sensor unit.
